NCL: Free Tours For Kids 2012
NCL is offering free tours on any cruise to kids 12-under, 50% off for 13-17.
This is a great way to take your family to exotic places and save a ton!
Norwegian Cruise Line has just announced a new incentive for booking a family cruise with the line - free tours for every child 12 years of age or younger on any cruise sailing in 2012 - for any cruise of any length to any destination on any itinerary. Kids aged 13 to 17 get all tours for 50% off the regular adult price.
The only stipulation is that the tours must be booked pre-cruise through the cruise line web site, but this should not be a problem since this has always been an option with NCL. All kids booking these special tours, whether teens or younger, must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
I guess it comes as no surprise that helicopter and fixed wing flight-seeing tours, golf, Orlando theme parks and Atlantis in the Bahamas are excluded from this promotion. I just took the Atlantis tour from Norwegian Epic and it was $189, and worth every penny. These Orlando and Atlantis tours are tailor made for kids and it just wouldn't make sense to give them away - no one would go to Disneyworld if NCL was giving the tickets away.
This offer is good for all cruises sailing in 2012 - anyplace in the world including Europe and Alaska, but the cruises and the shore tours must be booked by May 13, 2012.
What a great way this would be to take your kids to see Europe. Some of the tours there are priced at well over $200. To be able to take your two kids to Rome, Florence and Pisa, or the Pyramids at Giza, at no added cost would be a boon to any family. In Alaska the flight-seeing tour over the Mendenhall Glacier would be excluded, but you could still do whale watching, sea-life and other great Alaska tours.
All together, it is not unusual to spend as much as $400 to $500 person on tours when sailing to more exotic destinations like Europe, and having kids along always makes the cost of a cruise go higher, especially the tours, so I would not underestimate the value of this offer.
Shore excursion must be pre-booked with all participants prior to departure through Norwegian's website at Norwegian Cruise Line - Cruises, Cruise Deals & Specials, Cruise Ship Vacations, Weekend Getaways or through the line's call centers. The applicable promotion code KIDSHORX will be automatically added to the reservation if booked within the booking window.
Shore excursion reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis and are subject to availability. Cancellation fees for cruise, air, land and other charges will follow Norwegian's schedule listed in the brochure and website, which includes different schedules for Suites and Villas.
Offers are based on availability, are capacity controlled, and combining with other offers is subject to change or cancellation at any time per Norwegian Cruise Line's discretion.
