I don't have any tattoos and have no desire to get one. I remember two Marine Corps buddies got tattoos when tattoo artists were a rarity. Anyway one of them became infected and it was a mess. If I harbored a hidden desire for one, the sight of that guy's arm cured me.
I don't understand why people want to deface their bodies with excessive tattoos. In my line of work as an industrial trainer I see lots of young people in my classes. Probably half of them have visible tattoos. I know one employee at my previous nuclear site who was covered with bizarre tattoos. His arms looked like gothic culture posters. I bought a car from a salesman who apparently had a huge serpent tattoo on his chest. Even his coat and tie couldn't hide the serpent head that started on his neck. Very odd, this tattoo obsession.
