You will not have to "disembark" and go outside between cruises. You will go to guest services and they will issue you a new card.
You will also get credit for two cruises.
B2B cruises are fun. Especially if the itineraries differ. I am looking at taking Valor on a B2B. They have a nice 6 and 8 schedule that allows you to do Eastern and Western Caribbean.
