I have one more question for you Pete or anyone else who might know. From your experience, once the guaranteed cabin has been assigned, does it ever happen that the cruise line upgrades it later or once the cabin is assigned, that's it, unless you request to change it yourself?
In the 10-1/2 years I've owned my own company, I've not seen anyone get an upgrade and then be given another complimentary upgrade automatically, except once. Cabin came back as needing repair, so they upgraded my client. The only other time it'll get upgraded is if the agent is able to work some magic for you. Some cruise lines are easier to work with than others. Some have the attitude that once your cabin is assigned, that's it - you're stuck. Others will easily entertain a request for a different cabin.

Bottom line is, give it your best shot - all they can say is 'no' and you'll end up with what you got. But if they say 'yes', then you might get a much nicer cabin. Never hurts to ask.

Pete
