They started renovating the cabins some time ago. Yes, there could be construction, so what?
It is a reposition cruise and a bargain. It would be unreasonable to expect perfection.
As for sea days, we love them. Very relaxing and no expectations for Carnival to keep us entertained. Nobody is going to fly on in the middle of the ocean.
Sometimes satellite TV service will be unavailable, but Internet should still work.
They will run out of bananas at some point. Can't replenish them at sea or keep them fresh forever.
All minor points.
