I agree with Trip. For a family of 5, especially of this age, it's fine to get an inside for the kids across from a balcony for you.

Of course, if money is not so much an issue, then it's tough to beat connecting cabins because it's like getting a 2-room suite. But as was stated, the kids aren't usually in the cabin all that much anyway.

We liked the Dawn and I'm sure you will, too.
