The initial questions that come to mind are, what are the relative advantages of doing a cruise tour vs. DIY travel? Obviously DIY gives the most flexibility and possibly cost savings - I haven't tried to price things out.

In May 2008 we flew to Minneapolis and from there to Fairbanks .We did a 2 week cruise tour with HAL .The first part was a 7 day land tour by bus and train. It was great .Denali is earths paradise .
