We have no kids. We love Disney and I hope to cruise DCL from here on out (despite my Carnival gold status) because it was the best cruise I have ever had.
I think it's not so much that it's any more kids than any other cruise line, I think what it is is that family atmosphere. Instead of constantly pushing drink sales, you can quietly bring some with you to enjoy and not feel pushed to order something. No smokey casinos to walk through on the promenade deck. No bingo games to have to sit through before the show.
Superior service, very fun dancing people! (Other cruise line deck parties are always dead.) Castaway Cay is amazing. It would be hard for me to book another DCL that didn't go there, as it is a great value and we saw tons of fish and enjoyed lunch, volleyball, hermit crab races, everything.
My husband gets bored easily (even at 37!) he was coloring and doing puzzles at the table, the 'boys' (41 and 37) went around and played the mystery games, he was early for every show and stayed through the whole thing, when normally he can't stand to sit at a show.
If you love Disney, well then you will be on cloud9 as we were. We mixed in a few Land park days too, which was even better.
I will stick to DCL even if my friends try to get me to book another Carnival. I may have paid the same as a 7 day carn for Dis 3 day, but it was SOO much better than 7 days of mediocrity...
