Default Remembering the Navy Yard

When a celebrity dies there's a good chance you'll find a memorial string started on this board. David Frost, Eydie Gorme and Dennis Farina are some recent examples.

That's fine, but I think it would be a terrible oversight if this space were to ignore those murdered and injured yesterday down at the Navy Yard, just a few miles from where I sit.

Mass killings are now commonplace in this, "the greatest nation on earth," but we should still honor those who are sacrificed, their families, friends, and those who try to help.

I'm looking at a ticket on my desk for tonight's ballgame at Nationals Park, just three blocks from the massacre. I've thought hard about whether or not to go, but I believe I will, as a tribute if nothing else.
