Default HIV and Cruise ships

The reason cruise ships don't employ HIV personal has nothing to do with the actual person having the virus, as a retired cruise officer I can relate to this personally.
The reason Cruise Liners don't employ HIV positive personal is in the event they forget to bring their medicine onboard or if they lose it, all HIV positive people have to take their medication every day and cannot miss a day.
So in the assumption, an employee demanded their medication but the ship would have to be turned around and head to the nearest port for the employee to get their medication.
The ship does have a pharmacy of sorts but it does not cater for HIV medication. I am sure this is the liner owners use the above scenario as a way around the regulatory restrictions of discrimination, but it is what it is, and all cruise liners I know of will request the prospective employee to undergo a blood test before employment.
