Default Re: QM2 - Dress Code?

hi mitch,
you will fit right in on the QM2, my husband and I are 26 and 24 respectively and have sailed on her twice and are looking forward to our next one. there are usually three formal, three semi formal and three casual nights on a nine night cruise. The first night has been casual both nights we have sailed. Are you departing southampton? If so i would get there early and enjoy the ship whilst there are few people onboard. the taxi from the airport is about 6.00/person, as you fly in you come in over the QE2 dock and she her bearthed. Be calm! I was juming around like a fool!
I would recommend you book late seating for dinner and request a table in Rae's section(britannia). He is a superb assistant maitre'd who cannot do enough for you. the dress codes are enforced for dinner and a DJ and evening gown are the norm for formal, dark suit and cocktail dress for semi-formal(you do need a jacket) and slacks and open collered shirt for casual.
Take a look at my photos in the gallery, (QM2 Southampton - Athens) and you'll get some idea. What do you like doing at night? We usually (how bad is it that we have a routine?) get ready and have a pre-dinner drink in the golden lion, stroll off for dinner, take a walk on 7 deck, always worth it for that exta romance (!! ), and head to the casino, back to the pub and down to G32 for the rest of the night. We only see the comidean as we are not great show fans. Being on board will make you feel like a celebrity as you depart and thousands of people come out to see you off.
At night there is always something going on, the karaoke is always fun in the golden lion.
during the day resort casual, shorts and polo shirts are the norm, sunbathing is best on 8 deck aft by the pool. There are always daily activities going on and are well worth doing to get to know your fellow ship mates. I also have a review in the ship reviews section.
I know this is all a bit long, but i hope it helps.
feel free to pm me with any questions you might have.
