I booked a "Q" guarantee on the Voyager, and I was assigned an "M" cabin. My cabin was noted on the cruise documents Iwhich received two weeks before the cruise. On the Explorer I booked a run-of-ship category, and was assigned an Atrium cabin. Again, this assignment was noted on the cruise documents. I have heard that sometimes with a run-of-ship category, your room might not be assigned until you check in. But in both of my cases, RCL assigned my cabin at the time of issuing the cruise documents. Hope this helps. I don't think that a bribe at the port will help you.
