This what Frommer's guidebook has to say concerning Labadee
"Labadee is isolated on a scenic 270 acre peninsula and boast five separate beaches, each with different charactorics, evoking everything from the gravel and rocks of New England to the sandy atolls and palm trees of the Southern Carabbean. Royal Carabbean keeps the area so completely walled off from the outside world that if it weren't for souvenir venders hawking local paintings, you'd never know you were in poverty-stricken Haiti."
I have seen that the cruiseline advertises Labadee as being on the island of Hispaniola, not mentioning Haiti. It's like they do not want passengers to know "Your going to Haiti".
