Hi Karen in Virginia,
Sorry to hear about your rheumatoid arthritis. I am sure you did the right thing regarding a HP room. Look at it this way: what if you did not ask for one and in the middle of your cruise, you needed a wheelchair. You know, it would not go through the regular cabin door and for almost $5K you did OK. By the way, would it be, by any chance a
stateroom 1607 on the Penthouse Deck? That is the cabin right next to the elevators and very convenient to most areas. Summit is a fine ship, the onle beef wife and I had
was the cigarette smoke everywhere, not to mantion the Casino! We did Summit,
the "Ultimate Caribbean" 11 days, only last Oct. 28.
We took Alaska cruise twice, each time, however, only a 7 day cruise. First time it was our 25th (Oh my God, next year it will be a "golden" 50!) and then we could not afford the 14 day itinerary, and three years ago, she had already lost her leg and I was afraid she would not do well on all the buses and the train ride up to Fairbanks.
Hope you feel better and don't worry about a thing, you'll have a great cruise!
Vladimir and Elfrieda
