I remember on one episode this season of American Idol, Simon insulted a performer by saying, "You sound like you should be singing on a cruise ship." Sadly, a lot of cruise ship entertainment
is second-rate and promotes that stereotype. The cruise lines need to be more proactive in booking first-rate entertainment, Broadway- or Disney-caliber. Only by booking top-notch entertainment can they break through the old stereotypes about cruise ship entertainers.
