My partner and I were on 2 back-to-back Mediterranean cruises on the Noordam a year ago; we have sailed on 5 other HAL ships. Noordam is older, and does not have the same stylishness of the newer ships. She does not have balconies, 2-level dining rooms, and so on. However, we found that she she is very comfortable, well-maintained, a very friendly crew [as a couple we were treated exceptionally well], and all the usual HAL service and quality we have come to rely on. If being on a really contemporary ship is highly important, you may be disappointed. But if you're on a port-intensive cruise it won't be an issue. My other caution is that opinions about the Noordam seem to be all over the map - from raves to harsh criticism. Given the consistency of the HAL product, that suggests highly varying expectations of the ship. For me - I'd just plan on having a good time! Enjoy.
