Default sea lice and sand crabs

Okay, I've been reading about these nasty little critters and I'm all in a tizzy!

First, the sand crabs. I've read something about they're worse when there's been seaweed washed ashore. Has anyone had experiences with these in the Eastern Carribean?

Secondly, the dreaded sea lice. I've read they're worse from May to July (naturally, when I'm sailing!). They don't like when you rinse off with cold water after emerging from the ocean. Has anyone run into these in the Eastern Carribean? I'm SO paranoid about these.

I'm taking my benadryl, calamine lotion, hydrocortizone cream - what else can I do to prevent run-ins with these critters, or relieve the problems if I am unfortunate enough to encounter them?
