Having lived in Canada all of my life, travelled in more than half of the states, I can assure you there's not much difference in the custom of tipping. Tip as you would in the states and you'll be just fine.

There's a old joke: "What's the difference between a Canadian and a canoe?'' and the answer is: "A canoe will tip."

That is only a pun. We have cheap people in Canada and the US have their share also. Enjoy your stay in our country.
