I just received a phone call from my TA yesterday indicating that Holland would upgrade me from my HH Obstructed View Guarantee Cabin to a full balcony for $99 per person. I received an excellent rate and decided to pay the difference. Is this a common thing done on cruise lines? I knew I stood a chance of an upgrade, but I didn't know I would have to pay for it. Nevertheless, for $99 per person, it seemed like a great idea. Has this happened to anyone else?
