Hi Lisa,

I did the River Tubing in Ocho Rios in 2002 as a shore excursion from Explorer of the Seas with my grandson. I booked it for the same reason, that it was something different and we really enjoyed it a lot. They pick you up in vans and they had the tubes strapped on the top. You take a long ride on a rough road up the mountain to the starting place. The tubes have plywood across the bottom to protect you. They help you in, give you a paddle and push you out into the current. The river is not too deep and all the guides come along with you. On the way down, we stopped at a snack shack where you could buy food if you wanted and there was a rope swing that some of the kids were trying out. The trucks drove down and met us at the end of the run. This was a fun excursion, one of the high lights of that cruise and is a good memory...I love to try out different things if only to say I have done it...........Happy sails
