We were in Alaska for 3 weeks from June 22 til July is summer there too and daylight lasts 23 hours so the key is pack light "layers". Always keep a fleece or sweatshirt hands - it can rain any time any place in the mountains. The temps ran from low-mid 70's to as hi as 85 degrees! At night (duh!) it doesn't get cool because the sun never really sets - if you blink you will miss the sunset/sunrise transition! I word short sleeves or tank tops and wrapped a hoodie around my waist just in case. Warning.....there are 52 varieties of flies that hatch in June-July near Denali and points north. They emerge hungry and in swarms if you are around the wilderness areas - not so in the cities. Use DEET it will deter all the insects up there
