I get seasick very easily on a small boat but really haven't had any trouble on cruise ships. I prefer Bonine over Dramamine. I have no side effects with it. Try taking the medication at bedtime the night before you sail so that it's already in your system. If you start to feel quesy get out on the deck in the fresh air and look over the horizon. Eat some crackers or bread. Try not to overindulge in rich foods or too much alcohol. It will just make it worse. Some trips I haven't had to take anything, others maybe one or two pills. Last August we were in the Gulf when Hurricane Katrina hit and I still only took one Bonine.
