Sorry...passengers can smoke in their cabins no matter WHAT side of the ship they're on! We're hoping soon the cruiselines will take a stand and not allow smoking in passenger cabins, just like Hotel rooms. Cleaning cabins after smokers have gone can be expensive and time consuming. There's no question it's a hassle for the staff.
Some cruises have fewer smokers than others, but that's only the luck of the draw.
On our last cruise to Alaska...even the hallways smelled of smoke...
We have never had a problem with smokers before this cruise. We'd just avoided areas they were in...hard to miss...just look for the floating clouds of white smoke. But this cruise to Alaska was different. You couldn't avoid the smoke...it was everywhere, on everyone, even in our cabin.
You know...money talks...so if enough passengers complain???
