I thought that I only needed a birth certificate and drivers licence to enter the Bahamas, but I just read somewhere that I need a copy of my marriage licence.

Has anyone ever heard of this or had any problems?

Basically, you are correct. The catch is that you need additional documentation to explain any difference in name between your birth certificate, your photo id, and your ticket. If the reason for the difference is marriage, a marriage certificate would suffice. If it's a legal change of name, you'll need a copy of the court decree.
