If you are planning on climbing the falls in Jamaica then you would need some sort of waterproof shoe that has some grip. Flip-flops are a no-no on the falls, you would be better off actually with a pair of Teva type sports sandals, something that you can walk around town in, walk the hot and sometimes pebbly beaches in and climb the falls with. If you don't want to buy a pair of sports sandals and are still looking to climb the falls, a pair of plain white cotton tennis sneakers would do you just fine instead of the water shoes imo
