We have just scheduled our second ever cruise for 2/11/07. The first one was a gift to our entire extended family from my father. My account was quite high because I insisted on paying for all of his incidentals...plus, I like to play cards. I did not scrutinize my bill very closely.
I need just a little help in clarifying the tips. I am quite generous and enjoy being treated well. At the same time I don't want to be double tipping for the same service.
We have been advised that we are going to pay 10.00 per person per day.
Fair enough.
WHO does this compensate? Just the daily room cleaning? If so, that is OUTRAGEOUS! The house cleaning staff is paid a wage for cleaning up to ten rooms or more a day. If you do the math...2 people x 1 room x 10 rooms x 10 bucks = 200.00 a day in tips...where do I apply for that job?
I tip 2 or 3 bucks a day at a hotel.
This 20.00 dollars a day...does this cover room service?
Does every little service expect a tip?
Or only when we can add it to our account? (like when signing).
Is cash expected? What currency?
