Ibe, I have never "waitlisted" because we always book months in advance. I'm retired so it's easier for us to do that than for worker bees. Sometimes the longer cruises involve repositioning the ship (say from the far east to Alaska, or the Caribbean to the Mediterranean) and you can get a pretty good deal. You have to keep a close watch on the website on the cruise line you are interested in.
Landlocked in Denver, but cruisin every chance we get.
