Just to be clear, there are two entities with "Royal Caribbean" in their name.
>> The entity named "Royal Caribbean International" is a cruise line.
>> The entity named "Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd." is a holding company, the stock of which trades as common shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RCL and on the Oslo Stock Exchange, that owns four subsidiaries named "Royal Caribbean International" (a cruise line), "Celebrity Cruises" (another cruise line), "Pullmantur SA" (a cruise and land tour operator based in Spain), and "Royal Celebrity Tours" (a land tour operator). AFAIK
, "Azamara Cruises" is currently a brand operated by the "Celebrity Cruises" subsidiary.
Thus, the statement that "Royal Caribbean owns Celebrity" is misleading to many people.
BTW, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. has gone to great pains to maintain the distinct character of each cruise line, even to the extent of minimizing cross reassingment of staff from one cruise line to another.
