Obviously it depends on your personal values, but here's my take on it:

I believe those who say an inside room is fine because you don't spend much time there are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Of course you don't spend much time in an inside room. That's because it's a freakin' inside room. It's dark, dank, depressing.

Once you've got a balcony, guess what? You're likely to spend a lot more time in the room and on the balcony. Because it's bright, cheery, altogether pleasant.

Which is why you see so many people who say that they used to get inside rooms but once they got a balcony it's tough to go back.

Darn right.
