To have less "hassles" I suggest purchasing a policy that is the primary carrier. This way you do not have to submit all claims to your insurance carrier and then wait for them to pay or, most likely, not pay and then turn all the paperwork over to the travel insurance company for reimbursement.

It saves time and is far less hassle.

The site Mary Lou gave you will list (by highlighting) if the policy is primary or secondary coverage.
