Default DC-3 Flightseeing

A couple of people have mentioned the "Nostalgia" flightseeing out of Anchorage. I have contacted Era, but in the meantime would be interested in hearing feedback from those who have gone on this trip -- mostly interested in level of satisfaction and any information re: weather cancellation policies. Thanks.

This was one of the highlights of our cruise last August. My 15 year old son and I arrived a day early and took the flight in the early evening. We lucked out and flew over the ice fields. WOW! Unlimited champange while on board and big band music the whole time. You are allowed to go up in the cockpit with the pilots. If you would like to see some more of our pics, feel free to email.

Hockeymom -- unfortunately I don't have AOL so can't view your pics, but a couple of questions. Did you make reservations in advance for your flight? If so, what kind of cancellation policy do they have? Also, what kind of seating? I am concerned about whether we would really be able to see the views if we don't have a window seat. Thanks for any additional input.

I booked before we left home. The plane only holds about 20 passengers. The windows are not original - these they have enlarged. Much bigger than a regular jet. There are only two seats on each side of the plane. I had no trouble seeing over my 6 foot son who sat next to the window. Hope this helps!

An excellent tour, trust me. They also offer a wonderful helicopter flight in McKinley and Juneau.
