Chulitna River Float in June

Has anyone done this float trip offered by Princess from the McKinley Lodge? Seems from their tour book this is not really a rafting trip but a scenic float down the river. We'd much rather do a whitewater trip and wonder if Princess will let us switch trips. This was a "free" included trip with our package but, the whitewater excursion is cheaper so I though MAYBE they will let us change it. Ani recommendations about a more active tour. Also, has anyone stayed at McKinley Lodge? what is there to do around the lodge besides the Princess sponsored excursions? We'd love to do some hiking (not in a hiuge group we had to pay for) but have no idea what is around.

No this is definately not white water rafting. I would encourage you to take the park service shuttle to Eielson Visitor Center since few cruisetours offer this- most only go to Tolkat. There is excellent hiking and the added bonus of seeing much more wildlife and scenery.
