Taxi fare Seward and Vancouver

Doing the Vancouver to Seward Alaska in August. Princess wants $73 per person for transportation to and from airport, seems high to me. Does any body know the fare from Seward to airport. I understand that The taxi is $25 Candian for Vancouver airport to ship.

Keep in mind that you're talking a minimum of a 3 hour drive from Seward to Anchorage and approx 126 miles. I did a search for Seward's transportation and the only taxi I could find was just for the local area. (Some of the board's experts might have other alternatives) It looks like your options are the train, bus, or rental car. If you have enough time before your flight, it would be worth your while driving and viewing the unbelievable scenery!

The fare in Vancouver isn't expensive...it's the Seward end where you have to make a decision...

1. Hertz one-way car rental (you have the flexibility to stop and sight see, as the 126 miles are said to be beautiful). Their rates are a little high... U Save auto rental in Seward also does one-way rentals, but doesn't seem to be any cheaper because they have a $150 drop-off fee.
2. Train. I've heard it's nice, but the train doesn't leave Seward until 6 pm and get to Anchorage around 11 pm. The one-way train fare is not much less than the transfer for Princess.
3. Princess transfer -- 2 1/2 - 3 hour bus ride.

I'm choosing No. 1. My cruise is at the end of August....so I still have time to think about it. I've got a rental car reservation in the meantime.

Thanks for the information I didn't realize Seward was so far from Anchorage. Will look into renting a car.
