Default Seattle to Victoria 7/2

My family (4) is travelling to Seattle late midnight arrival 7/2 and want to get right over to Victoria on 7/3. Thought we might stay close to airport on 7/2 and then taxi to wharf for ferry ride to Victoria 7/3-7/5. We then leave out of Vancouver 7/6 on Mercury for inside passage to Seward (7 nite) and will probably ferry to Vancouver afternoon of 7/5. Has anyone done this and what is easiest (cheapest?) way out of Seattle to Victoria and best way from Seattle ariport to ferries? Any thoughts on where to stay in Victoria and Vancouver? Royal Scot in Victoria has been suggested and Waterfront Centre(sp?) in Vancouver seem to be best hotels.Thanks as it is our first major cruise and obviously our first to Alaska.

For four people, a taxi is going to be the best way to get from the airport to the waterfront.

To get from Seattle to Victoria, take the Victoria Clipper. It goes from the Seattle waterfront, Pier 69, right to Victoria's Inner Harbour. See their web page for rates, schedule and maps - <http://www.victoriaferry.com/marketing/index.shtml>.

I do not have much information to offer on hotels in Seattle or Victoria. I usually stay with friends in Seattle and make day trips to Victoria.

However, I have stayed at the Westcoast Gateway and Westcoast Sea-Tac. They are very conveniently located right by Sea-Tac. See <http://www.westcoasthotels.com>

There are lots of charming Bed & Breakfast places in Victoria. One place we stayed at years ago and liked was Abigails <http://www.abigailshotel.com/> If you have young kids be sure to check for age limitations..

To get from Victoria to Vancouver, take one of the "BC Ferries" from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen. You'll have to get local tranportation between Victoria and Swartz Bay; and from Tsawwassen to Vancouver. See
<http://www.bcferries.bc.ca/schedules/mainland/tssw-current.html>

Sorry that I don't have more information on hotels and local transportation.

Grayline offers transfers from Victoria to Downtown Vancouver- no need for "local " transportation on each end. Alaska Cruiser wrote:
