Default Personal choice dining

We are sailing on the Sun Princess in August to Alaska and were wondering about the personal choice dining. Do you choose from the same menu selection as in the main dining room? If you choose personal dining can you forget about formal nites? And does the $6.50 a day tipping charged by Princess take care of all your waiters including room service?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Lee..
- the menus are identical to the traditional dining room. ( it's still a dining room u got to for Personal Choice, just one that has been designated Personal Choice).
- recommended dress codes apply to the Personal Choice dining room.. so yes, formal night is formal. If u want casual.. the Horizon Court is set up as a Bistro in the evenings.
- the automatic tips are meant to cover the restaurant staff... your cabin steward is still tipped in the traditional manner.. and I'd still recommend tipping the person who delivers the room service a dollar or two.. if the service is good.

Hope that info helps.
Regards,
Kuki

...to add to Kuki's comments, they also suggest that you tip separately the waitors in Verdi's pizza (it is on the menu as "Gratuity for wait staff is optional" or something like that).

The last day tip that you leave for the services performed all week by the room steward are different from room service tips. Although tipping is not required for room service deliveries, the majority vote is that you should give them something.
