Any suggestions for a good place to stay that's tastefully decorated, clean, convienient to Canada Place and a good restaurant, that rates as a "good value"?
We love the Listel Hotel. It is less than 1/2 mile from terminal on the famed Robson Street. Rooms there are tasteful and very moderate in price. Vancouver has some very pricey properties. You should be able to get a room for about $120 U.S. This is a great location and there is a wonderful Jazz club adjacent to the lobby of the hotel. There are several great restaurants just down the street. Use the restaurant reviews websites for suggestions. We love "A Kettle of Fish" which is not far either.
Were staying at the Delta Pinnacle...it's 5 min away from Canada Place Pier and the design of the rooms and ammenities really drew me to this hotel. We booked 6 or so months in advance and got a GREAT deal!

"Good value" is very subjective, but you might want to try the Vancouver Renaisannce or the Vancouver Hyatt. We've stayed at both and I think they have what you're looking for.

The listel is about the best place to stay, the rates are reasonable & the location is excellent, it's located on Robson St. which is one of the main shopping areas. It's about a $5.00 (cdn) ride to the Canada Place pier. If you prefer to walk it is about 10 min. away. Vancouver has some wonderful places to eat, if you are looking for something different you could try the restaurant located at the top of Grouse Mountain, it has a wonderful view of the City and Vancouver Island.
