Re: Questions on Homer, Bear Watching, Fly Fishing
Homer is a great area with fishing the main interest. The drive is scenic especially from Soldotna- Homer- along the Cook inlet. As for bear watching- The Clark area is excellent but I would go at least overnight for 2 watches- to make the most of it. It is a long day trip. I have been to Anan- again excellent mid July- August- peak. Pack Creek is also supposed to be good- tough choices. These are the bear/salmon areas, but you can't beat the cheap interior brown bear viewing at Denali Park= $23 to at least Eielson.
