Dog Sledding Excursion

I'm booked on Celebrity Summit May 24 and I'm seriously considering taking the helicopter/dog sledding combo. I've read that this excursion frequently gets cancelled in Juneau. Any feedback here? Would you recommend that I book in Juneau and Skagway, hoping that one of the tours will go?

I'd appreciate any advice/feedback. Thanks!

If the snow is too deep, the dog sledding portion may be canceled but the helo portion will probably go and you will get a refund for the dog sled portion. Excellent excursion. I don't know about booking 2 of these excursions, but if they don't go you should be refunded. The first time we went to Alaska a few years ago, the dog sled portion of our excursion was canceled due to deep snow in early May but the helo portion of the excursion was so darn fantastic we really did not miss the dog sled portion.

temsco helicoptors suggested that i book in skagway rather then juneau because there is a greater chance of fog in juneau

TEMSCO no longer offers dogsledding out of Juneau, only Skagway.

I haven't made the dogsledding yet, canceled upon twice, It is the inside passage most canceled excursion. It is not only dependent on the snow conditions but weather as well, on a glacier landing helicopeter tour, there are many landing sites, but only one dog sledding area. Consider going out of Skagway booked direct via TEMSCO. I wouldn't double book unless you are prepared to go twice. Only option for a Juneau booking will be through the ship excursion via ERA.

dont know if i should let the cat out of the bag but i was able to book direct wim temesco rather then thru the cruise line and i got a better price----no commission for the middle man

Yes a common suggestion here. Last year's rate was $303. Has there been any change this year?? Please update us and HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!!

Yes, there has been an increase in price this year. It's up to $329.
