We are travelling with our two sons 8 & 13 and staying one night pre-cruise in Vancouver. For the same price $350 Canadian, we can get a suite at the Four Seasons or a regular room at Pan Pacific. Have heard great things about Pan Pacific, but I think we would probably be more comfortable in the suite. Anyone ever stay at the Four Seasons? Any other recommendations for a family of four without spending more? Thanks.
Would doubt that would be possible. It depends if it is necessary for you to stay where your ship is???? East views are definately inferior to the west and north views so be sure to find out your room location.
I too am travelling with two teens and have researched the same options. I have a travel agent who got me a rate of 275 cad for the Pan Pacific. The four seasons for a Deluxe room is 300 CAD. I am choosing the Pan Pacific because it is right at the Pier and does not require a taxi. It is also right on the water with walking distance to downtown.
Email me if you want to use my travel agent for the reduced rate.
I read recently that Canada Place will be ready to handle 3 ships this summer (ahead of schedule). Celebrity (Mercury) usually docks at Canada Place. Deb- there are 3 ships on Sunday schedule - Mercury, Vision and Veendam so I think it is safe to assume Canada Place. We're doing Mercury in July! Can't wait!
I've stayed at both hotels. If it weren't for the fact that many of the ships dock at the pan Pacific, I would not stay there. There's nothing wrong with it but it's a big, impersonal commercial hotel. The Four Seasons, on the other hand, is simply a better hotel. I got violently sick while we were staying there (nothing the hotel did) and was sick all over the room - couldn't get to the bathroom on time. They took really good care of me. They must train their staff to take care of under the weather guests. I tipped the woman very well. She certainly deserved it.
Four Seasons is a better choice considering you have two sons with you as the suite will give you more room and you are located downtown.
Taking a taxi to the pier is not expensive and its possible the hotel might do a transfer bus their..
Carol is right about Pan Pacific as a commercial hotel though its walkng distance to downtown also (five minutes)
