While we have never boarded a cruise ship in Seward, it has been our practice for the last ten years to take a cruise annually from Vancouver to Seward, staying on the ship to return to Vancouver.
At the dock, which is wholly uninpressive they have had a large tent where the passenger are disengorged from the busses at what ever time the bus arrives at the pier. Shortly thereafter the passengers file out of the tent onto the ship. We have witenssed passengers arriving anywhere from early afternoon to early evening.
Thus, it would seem that you should consider the time the bus leaves
Anchorage, allow three hours drive and then maybe a 1/2 hour before
I have to mention that we have never been in Seward when it has not rained rather heavy rain.
We were just at the dock in Seward in September and there was a large building to go through. I'm confused as to your reference about the tent. Was this in case more than one ship were docked in Seward? Thanks.
I was on Dawn Princess and took the Grand View RR from Anchorage, so we didn't get to Seward until about 5:30pm. I understand that the boarding usually starts around noon. Your best bet is to call the cruiseline. That type of info is normally fairly accurate.
