Default Flu in Alaska

According to news emanating from Anchorage the city has experienced an outbreak of flu resulting in the closing of schools. Sometime ago there was a wide sprerad outbreak of the flu in Alaska that according to the Center for Disease Control was attributed to a group of tourist from Europe who started with the land tours and the cruise ships. The flu spread to the southern cities such has Juneau, Ketchikan, etc.

We took a 14 day cruise at that time and did not contact the flu and I suppose it was due to the fact we had previously taken a flu shot. We also took along a supply of an inexpensive, old time prescription drug," amantadine" recommended by the CDC. It does not stop someone getting the flu but helps relieve the affects of flu. It is best to be forewarned and prepared.
