clothes for dinner

I am pretty sure of what kind of clothes to pack for our cruise thanks to board advice,but I was wondering if it is okay to wear bright summer colors to dinner or would I look out of place?

Oh, puhleeze. I saw jeans, shorts and flipflops in the dining room on formal night last week on the Vision down to Mexico. Anything goes anymore....

really depends what ship you sail on. hal ships tend to have people dress up for dinner. others are more laid back

Thanks Hapster for the observations. Will remember to steer clear of the "Vision" in any future booking. Dressing down on formal nights is inverted snobbery. The guys in shorts and flip flops should have been seated down below beside the greasers on their shiftbreak. That is, if the greasers would accept them. Bill.

Yes anything goes now days. But you would probably be more the norm with fall colors rather than light summer, but add a wrap and it could be perfect!!!!

Don't bring yourself down to the level of the jeans/shorts t-shirt dolts.I agree with Karen's post.Some bright colour on casual nights might be nice.It is Spring!!
