A question about the helicopter to glacier/dog sled ride excursion...anybody been on it...and if so is it safer to book through cruise line...I've heard some of the excursion operators tend to cancel people that book indepently if the cruise ship needs the room.
Any help would be appreciated. Going or Radiance of the Seas July 20.
i booked on my own with tenesco (skagway) have written confirm-- cheaper then booking thru the cruise line----- only small problem is they cant pick us up at the ship- conflict-- so we have to get to their terminal on our own----they even sent a map--about a 10 min walk----if we were in town they would arrange to pick us up
We will be going to Juneau and Skagway. Is there an advantage to doing the helicopter ride over the glacier (and dog sledding) at one location over the other? Any recommendations. WE are going in early June on Princess.
No transportation needed to TEMSCO in Skagway. Walkable unless you have limitations. From the east dock just keep walking over to the middle dock around to the left. There is a big advantage to booking in Skagway- far less canceled than Juneau, TEMSCO no longer runs Juneau dogsledding.

They can and do, many times for weather and possibily other reasons, nothing is a sure thing.
