I used Coastal on my trip last summer. They seemed to come highly recommended on all the Alaska message boards. Having never been on a glacier helicopter ride before I can't compare them to another company, but I was pleased with their service. The ship had to tender into Juneau and the van was patiently waiting for us when we arrived. They were very nice people and it appeared the pilot tried several times to find a "good scenic spot" on which to land. We actually had a warm, partly sunny day for the ride (early August) so the ice on the glacier was quite slippery. I used the "moon boots" they provided, but probably would have been better to stick with my tennis shoes since the soles of the boots didn't give any traction (I fell and cut my hand--but hey, it was a good story, "Oh, the cut on my hand? I fell down on a glacier in Alaska."). To make a long story short, as far as Coastal goes I would recommend them. Both their hearts and their price are in the right places. Enjoy!
Our family is booked with Coastal in Juneau 6/1, (Wow! getting close.)
I will post upon return June 8 or real soon after. Coastal people sound very nice, will pick us up at the dock. They scheduled a flight to fit our other committments.
