Cruise Ship Problems

According to day's issue issue of the Juneau Empire by Kris Hutchins,onMonday , August 12, the Southeastern portion of Alaska was affected by a storm that provided heavy rain fall and up to 40mph winds. The sea was so bad that the RCI "Legend of the Seas" sought shelter in Auke Bay.

When the" Legend of the Seas" arrived in Auke Bay it found the Holland America
"Ryndam" already there. The Rydam had experienced power failure while on route to Glacier Bay. It seems generator problems in HAL ships are not limited to the "Statendam". For about 20 minutes the vessel drifted down stream in the Lynn Canal.. The U.S. Coast Guard has boarded the vessel to ascertain why the generator failed.
