Never heard of any, except the whale watching tours. Juneau should have plenty of wildlife if you are also going there. The bears are plentiful at the Mendenhall Glacier.

Sitka is a short port - time wise so it is important to plan carefully. The sealife tours will include sea otters and usually whales bu take up most of your port time. In port there is the Raptor Center that is walkable without limitations. the Sitka Heritage Park walk through the totem poles. If you are interested there is a great excursion to St. Lazaria Island - puffin rookery- but again it would take up most of your port time. The town has an all day shuttle bus for $7 that drops off at the points of interest.

Sue:

We just returned from ALaska getting on Legend of the Seas on Aug. 16th,

We took the wildlife tour from the ship and left at 7:00am (just as we arrived, the tour boat came right up to the ship.

WE saw sea otters, harbor seals, many eagles and eagle's nests, salmon fishermen, whales, sitka deer and a beautiful tour of the area. We had plenty of time to look around in sitka (not a large town) and climb the hill. (Do this, a great view of the harbor).

A bit pricey, but we (my wife and two teenage boys) loved it!

Bill
