I am thinking of taking my 5 and 6 year old grandsons on an Alaskan cruise. What is the best cruise for kids this young? Also, one of my grandsons has asthma. Which cruise has the best medical facilities?
All the major lines have medical facilities. Be sure to purchase insurance as a few visits can be costly. Double pack medications as one time a room mate need a inhalation treatment and the meds were expired. But Alaska may not be an ideal area for 5-6 year olds. Very Very few kids are interested in scenery and wildlife will need costly excursions. Brochures are greatly enhanced!!! Breeching whales are an infrequent encounter and land animals can be dots with binoculars. Depending on the kids the Caribbeen usually has a lot more cheaper options. Overall there will be kids on Alaskan cruises with very good ship activity programs for kids. But overall expect far fewer than the Caribbean.
