Default alternatives to formal dinners?

My husband and I are not too excited about being required to dress formally for two nights on our cruise. We are planning to sail on Celebrity's Mercury. Are there alternatives for dining on the formal nights (other than room service)? We would prefer not to even have to bring formal attire at all.

Every cruise I've been on has a buffet (Lido) dining room available for those who don't want to dress for dinner.Lisa G. wrote:

There is alternative dining for dinner on the Mercury, in the buffet area, but you'll need to make a reservation to do so.

The alternative dinner buffet on the Mercury has limited seating capacity and requires a reservation. That having been said, why not reconsider packing your best duds and enjoying the ambiance of formal night on your cruise? The ships takes on a unique personality on formal night - it's a special and most enjoyable part of cruising.
