Default Alaska in July

We're flying into Anchorage in early July to start our tour of Alaska. We're spending a week before we board the Volandam to cruise the inside passage to Vancouver. We have two nights in Danali and two in Dawson City.

I'd like some ideas on making the most of those two night visits.

Was in Dawson in July 1994 (it was about 85 degrees!) and went and saw the gold dredge (out of town), a lookout above Dawson (Can't remember the name of it but paved road) and Diamond Tooth Gerties. Hope this helps.

Looks like 3 nights in Anchorage. If rent a car, drive down to Seward if you have time.
You can stop off at some Glaciers along the way. I remember visiting a porperty devoted to Hale Boggs that we took a small boat to view some Glacier calving. It was priced high, but I did get calving pictures that rocked the boat.
Anchorage-Smon ad Seiferts I think is the name of a restaurant recommend.
Earthquake park not much, but intersting.
I assume you train to Denali. Nice ride. Denali- two nights plenty enough. Take the full day to do the park tour. I think you might need a congressman's pass to dirve a car in, so do the bus tour.
That's all that comes to mind right now.

I assume you are on a tour???? If so you will have the included tourist stuff at Dawson City? As for Denali Park- again if on a tour you will have an included park tour- be sure it is the Tundra Wildlife tour and NOT the Natural History. If going on your own- reserve the first SHUTTLE to at least Eielson the second day. Consider ranger activities, varied and free and the sled dog demo. If not on a tour- hopefully you will be flying to Dawson City- too long of a bus trip in my opinion. the road referred to above would be "Top of the World".
