Default Shore Excursions

We are going on an Inside Passage cruise at the end of August on HAL. We have narrowed down the list of excursions and would like some advice as to which ones are the best and worth the money (any other suggestions are welcome). I am a photographer so I'm looking for some good shots. Thanks!

Juneau
Pilots Choice (helicopter ride)
Evening Whale Quest
Juneau Icefield & Glacier Flightseeing

Skagway
White Pass Scenic Railway
Eagle Preserve Float Adventure

Ketchikan

Karen16, I need some of your good advice again.
In Juneau I was planning to do a helicopter glacier trek for 3 1/2 hrs. My husband would also like to do a whale watching trip which takes 3 1/2 hrs. I have read a lot of good reviews about Captain Larry's Orca trip.
The Coral Princess is only in port from 6:30am -4:00pm. and these two excursions take up the entire day. Is Juneau the best place for whale watching? [we are doing our own land tour and have two days in Seward, any good whale watching there] I feel like we will be missing a lot , not really seeing Juneau at all Help!!!

You can do both excursions in Juneau- I would book cooperatively with Orca and Coastal, they drop off for each other. There is no way you will even get to see a lot in 5 trips, even though people are intent on packing everything in. Plan for what interests you the most and go with that. Plan on repeat trips. Seward does have whale sightings on their boat tours but are not exclusively whale watching but varied wildlife. I always go on one with my preference the last 2 times on the 9+ hour tours.

Karen16,
Thanks, but have another question. I just spoke with ERA [ they are accepting the tour saver coupon] about the glacier landing trip . He said that he would honor the coupon in Seward, I didn't realize we could do the same kind of trip there. What's your thoughts on this, it would free up some time in Juneau for us. As much as I would love to do a repeat trip to Alaska as you have done,I don't forsee it for now. Cheryl
